Whoa: Nationals costs more than all our other tournaments combined.
May 18, 2016
Flywheel has worked hard all season to fundraise enough to send the entire team to elite tournaments such as Florida Winter Classic and Women’s Centex in Texas. Great news: All the hard early-season fundraising work paid off! Competing against top-caliber teams all season prepared us to take the Great Lakes Regional title and qualify for Nationals.
Flywheel is heading to Nationals in less than ten days! However, participating in this memorable tournament is NOT cheap. The bid fee is almost five times more expensive as the average tournament, totaling almost $2,000 for Flywheel’s 23-person roster. Doing the math, the bid fee for Nationals costs more than all of our other 2016 tournament bid fees combined. On top of this, there are transportation costs to drive all the way to North Carolina, lodging costs for the week of nationals, and costs for the coaching staff. This all runs a tall bill, but like every challenge that Flywheel has faced this season, we are ready to take it on.
